LOS ANGELES - AlderLaw, a leading Los Angeles plaintiff's law firm, has announced that Stephen McElroy, a highly regarded lawyer who has tried and arbitrated more than 100 Superior Court cases, has joined its team of litigators. McElroy has litigated on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants for more than 20 years.
McElroy is an experienced and skilled negotiator who has recovered more than $75 million in verdicts and settlements in the last nine years. He has litigated complex lawsuits in a wide variety of cases including trucking accidents, construction-related matters, roadway defect cases, animal attacks, electrical and fire injury cases. In a recent trial in Bakersfield, Calif., McElroy secured a $6.15 million verdict for his client, a young woman injured by a negligent driver who then developed a chronic pain condition known as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. The jury awarded substantial money for the woman's future medical treatments that were required due to her injuries.
He earned his Bachelor of Science from California State University, Fullerton and received his Juris Doctor from Santa Barbara College of Law.
McElroy is a member of the California, Maryland and Washington bars. He is the past president of the Antelope Valley Bar Association and of the 50th Agricultural District where he was appointed to the Board of Directors by Governors Gray Davis and Arnold Schwarzenegger. He is also a recipient of the Philip Schwabaccer Award for outstanding service to the legal community.
