Seyfarth Shaw Welcomes John D. Roesser To Securities & Financial Litigation Group

NEW YORK - Seyfarth Shaw LLP has announced that John D. Roesser has joined the firm's New York office as a partner in the Litigation Department. Roesser joins the firm from Proskauer Rose LLP.

Roesser has extensive experience counseling and defending financial services and Fortune 100 companies in securities litigation and SEC investigations (including actions under the 33, 34 and 40 Acts) and representing clients in shareholder derivative actions and other complex commercial disputes. Also, he represents clients on general corporate litigation matters (including derivative matters and breach of fiduciary duty) and international arbitration, including several arbitrations relating to South America.

The Securities & Financial Litigation Practice Group represents companies (both public and private), their officers and directors, and outside advisors (auditors) in litigation brought by shareholders or other stakeholders, in investigations or proceedings brought by government agencies (SEC, FINRA, CFTC, or DOJ), and in internal investigations.

Seyfarth Shaw opened its New York office in 1979 with seven attorneys. Today, the office is home to more than 100 attorneys, many of whom are also admitted to practice in New Jersey and Connecticut.

Roesser received his B.A. from Connecticut College (with distinction) and his J.D. (with honors) from George Washington University Law School. He is admitted to the New York and Maryland state bars, the Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
