PALO ALTO, Calif. - Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, the premier provider of legal services to technology, life sciences and other growth enterprises worldwide, has announced that Douglas H. Carsten has become a partner at the firm. Carsten's practice focuses on complex patent litigation in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. He will be based in the firm's San Diego office.
Before joining Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, Carsten was an IP litigation partner at Foley & Lardner. Aside from his expertise in Hatch-Waxman patent litigation, including ANDA trials, Carsten has significant experience representing medical device and biotechnology companies in patent litigation matters. Earlier in his career, he was an attorney at Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich (now DLA Piper) and Irell & Manella. Carsten received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1998, an M.A. in organic chemistry from Harvard University in 1995, and a B.S. in chemistry and English literature from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1993.
