Mealey's Elder Law - Court Holds Ruling Violated Mother's Rights, Vacates Order Granting Visitation

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - After finding that a trial court's visitation schedule for a grandmother and child was excessive and that the court applied the wrong Tennessee law section in awarding parental rights to the grandmother, a Tennessee appellate court on July 23 vacated the schedule and a decision awarding the grandmother parental rights and attorney fees (In re Diawn B., No. M2017-01159-COA-R3-JV, Tenn. App., 2018 Tenn. App. LEXIS 422).
