Employee Leasing Service Executive Agrees To Plead Guilty To Fraud (TX) - Patrick G. Mire, who served in management with several professional employer organizations, has agreed to plead guilty to mail-fraud conspiracy and conspiracy to launder money. Mire was accused of collecting payroll taxes and workers' compensation insurance fees from clients and then failing to forward the taxes and fees to the government and insurers. He served as president or general manager at more than a dozen professional employer organizations that were all located at the same address. Read more
Workers' Compensation Lawyer Charged With Theft Of Funds Of Clients (GA) - Attorney Miles L. Gammage, a principal of The Gammage Firm, has been arrested on 13 counts of felony theft by taking, felony theft by conversion, and felony first-degree forgery. The charges were filed after an investigation that was caused by complaints by some of his clients they had not received their workman's compensation settlements. Read more
