KY: Supreme Court Rules Off-Duty Pilot's Commute Was Work-Related

FRANKFORT, KY - The Kentucky Supreme Court, reversing an administrative law judge's decision, ruled that an off-duty airline pilot who was commuting from his home in Lexington to his job in Atlanta and who died in a plane crash, was in the course of his employment because a reduced-fare arrangement - one of the perks of his job -induced him to accept the job in the first place, live in Lexington and fly to his job, and that such arrangement benefitted his employer.
