LNUK: UK Legal Team join the International Bar Association Annual Conference

LexisNexis had a significant presence at the 2016 IBA Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. Over 6,000 lawyers from more than 120 countries attended the event.

James Harper, Head of Legal for the UK and Ireland facilitated a panel for the IBA Intellectual Property, Communications and Technology Section whilst Jo Weller, Global Legal and Regulatory Compliance Counsel, presented on a panel for the IBA Women's Interest Group. LNUK Sales was represented at the event by Kevin Cassidy, Head of International Sales and Jinesh Pate, Regional Manager, Academic.

A highlight of the conference was the presentation of three IBA/LexisNexis awards to recognise lawyers for their commitment to advancing the Rule of Law. Very genuine and frequently emphasised support for LN efforts to advance the Rule of Law was afforded by the IBA leadership. This year's honorees included Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year award honoree, Remy Choo Zheng XI, Singapore; Pro Bono and Access to Justice award honoree, Odette Geldenhuys, South Africa (pictured below with IBA President David Rivkin and Nigel Roberts, VP Global Associations, LexisNexis); and Human Rights award honoree, Galina Arapova, Russia.
