Biography:

Charmian Barton is a lawyer and accredited mediator who works across the development and resources, and commercial and civil streams of the WA State Administrative Tribunal.  Prior to her appointment in October 2018, Charmian practised planning and environmental law in Western Australia and New South Wales.  She has significant experience advising government and corporate clients in contaminated land management, development assessment and approval processes, pollution and waste licensing, biodiversity, heritage, and energy reporting.  Charmian has published and presented on a range of topics from a legal perspective, including brownfield redevelopment, mine site rehabilitation, corporate social responsibility, water reform, and carbon risk.
