Biography:
Jaime is a leading Australian expert on the application of the financial services and consumer credit regulatory regime. She is a Band 2 Ranked Lawyer in the 2026 and 2025 Chambers Fintech Guide 2025 - 2026, and a Band 4 Ranked Lawyer in the Chambers Asia-Pacific Guide for Financial Services Regulation 2021 - 2026.
She is a leading Australian expert in the digital assets space and has consulted extensively with Treasury and ASIC on proposed reforms and relief instruments and was called to testify at the Senate Economics Legislation Committee’s enquiry into the Digital Assets (Market Regulation) Bill 2023. She leads Hamilton Locke’s contributions to the Digital Economy Counsil of Australia’s and Fintech Australia’s submissions on digital asset reforms. She does work for a range of digital assets businesses, including exchanges, token issuers, crypto lending platforms, and crypto investment platforms.
She delivers fearless and technically excellent advice across a range of industries, including life and general insurance, payments products, derivatives, foreign exchange, horse racing syndicates, wealth management, charitable fundraisers, business and consumer credit, and buy now pay later.
Jaime presents regularly, including at the Credit Law Conference, Responsible Lending & Borrowing Summit, Women in Payments, Intersekt, DECA and Blockchain APAC events.
Jaime also supervises the firms AFS and credit licensing practice, which has assisted 600+ businesses with AFS and credit licences.
