Biography:
Attorney practising before the Supreme Court of India, various High Court(s), and Special courts adjudicating privacy, data protection and cybercrimes.
Engaged by the Federal Government and State Governments to draft technology related legislations, Policy frameworks, and International treaties/protocols. Acted as ‘privacy negotiator’ before European Council. Legal advisor to the Federal Government on issues related to cybersecurity, surveillance, interception and cyberlaws related issues.
Represented world’s leading technological companies, Telecom sector, Financial Institutions, social media platforms, and global law firms (off counsel) before the Trial and Appellate Courts in India.

- Jury member [2012 – 2025] to Data Security Council of India (DSCI) Excellence Awards to select: CyberCop of the year, Excellence in Capacity Building of Law Enforcement Agencies, Excellence in Capacity Building in Cybercrimes, Cyber laws & Digital Forensics by Academia, and Award for Pioneering Digital Forensics Capabilities by Government Institutions.
- Author of the book – ‘Information Technology – Law and Practice’ (9th Edition), LexisNexis [presently into 23rd year of publication].

Speaking Engagements
- Addressed more than 500 seminars and International conferences in the last twenty years on privacy, data protection, cybercrimes, and electronic evidence. Taught courses on ‘Public Policy, Technology and Law’ at premier management and law schools.
- Engaged with the National Judicial Academy as a visiting faculty since its inception [2004] training superior court judges on issues related to cybercrimes and appreciation of electronic evidence.
