    Biography:

    Andy advises on all aspects of employment law, with particular expertise in advising companies on large scale workforce issues such as changing the terms of their pension arrangements for staff, reorganisations, changes to terms and conditions and TUPE transfers/outsourcing arrangements. He also has substantial experience of Tribunal work and negotiating severance packages with (and for) senior executives, as well as dealing with other contentious issues such as breach of confidentiality, team moves and post-termination restrictions.

    In addition, Andy regularly advises on the employment and pensions aspects of corporate transactions, such as sales and purchases of businesses, group restructuring exercises and funding investment projects. He also presents seminars and delivers tailored training sessions to clients, as well as writing for a variety of publications.

    Andrew is a specialist in a variety of indirect taxes with a focus on GST, State Taxes and Customs related taxation matters.


    Prior to PKF, Andrew was a Partner at a Big 4 accounting for more than 11 years. He has had extensive experience in providing comprehensive tax advice to small to medium enterprises right through to large multinational organisations. He also has strong relationships with senior officers from the Australian Taxation Office and other revenue authorities.


    As well as working with a range of different sized businesses, Andrew is an experienced practitioner across a diverse range of industry sectors. He also has experience in establishing business operations in New Zealand, South Africa and Singapore.


    His major clients include automotive importers, distributors and dealers, food wholesale and distributors, and consumer electronic companies. He also has a number of clients in the Retirement Village and Aged Care Sectors. In addition, Andrew has recently been working with clients servicing the NDIS and affordable housing sectors.


    Andrew’s portfolio is broad and diversified and includes working with a number of start-ups on a range of business, tax and funding issues.


    Andrew also sits on the advisory boards of a number of large Private Companies.

    Based in Armstrong Watson’s Leeds office, Morag is a partner and head of the specialist Healthcare Services Team.     David Heaton FCA CTA has specialised in employment taxes, national insurance (social security taxes) and tax investigations since the late 1980s. After senior positions in Big 4 firms and partnership for 13 years in a national firm, he became a sole practitioner in 2014.

    As a lecturer for professional institutes and training businesses he is known for his down-to-earth and often irreverent style. He was briefly a member of HMRC's GAAR panel, invited because of his nationally recognised expertise in employment taxes, but he resigned after a press expose that revealed that he advised clients and fellow professionals as well as HMRC.


    He has chaired the ICAEW's Employment Taxes & NIC Committee for many years and is a past chairman of the Institute's Tax Faculty. He is also a member of two relevant technical sub-committees of the CIOT.

    Simon McKie is the Chairman of McKie & Co which won the ‘Best Tax Consultancy Team’ award in the 2012 and 2015 Taxation Awards and the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners award for ‘Boutique Firm of the Year’ in 2009/2010 and was most recently shortlisted in 2019.

    Ibrahim holds three bachelor’s degrees and four master’s degrees, including a Master’s in Tax Law and a Master’s in Data Analytics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, as well as a Master’s in Engineering from the University of Technology Delft.

    As an academic, Ibrahim has lectured at leading universities in the Netherlands, including Erasmus University Rotterdam and the University of Amsterdam.
