Abu Dhabi: Social Support Authority Sets 9 Conditions for Marriage Loan

Al Khaleej, 10 June 2026: The Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority confirmed that applicants for the “Facilitated Marriage Loan” must meet nine eligibility criteria, as part of the emirate’s family growth support strategy.

According to the authority’s website, the conditions include:

  • UAE citizenship for both spouses, with the husband being from Abu Dhabi.

  • The husband must not have been married before, except in cases of widowhood or divorce.

  • Marriage must follow the Madim wedding model, with registration, package selection, and completion of guidance sessions at the Madim Centre.

  • Applicant’s age must be 21 years or older at the time of application.

  • The husband must submit the request within 12 months of the marriage contract.

  • Monthly salary must be below AED 60,000 after pension deductions.

  • Applicant must have approved creditworthiness under UAE banking policies.

  • The loan is granted once only.

Required documents include a valid marriage contract, certified salary certificate, and proof regarding the marriage grant from the Ministry of Community Development.

Applications are submitted via digital identity login, followed by eligibility confirmation, bank procedures, and loan disbursement. The loan provides up to AED 150,000, interest‑free and fee‑free, to support Emirati couples in starting a stable family life.
