The Registration Authority (RA) of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) has introduced new regulations and comprehensive guidance for Sales and Promotions, strengthening transparency, efficiency and consumer protection in its jurisdiction.
The updated framework provides a streamlined regulatory approach for businesses, professionals and eligible entities conducting sales and promotional activities. It consolidates legislative requirements into a single framework, offering greater legal certainty and consistent standards across all sectors.
The newly published Guidance on Commercial Permits for Sales and Promotions outlines categories of activities requiring permits, regulatory expectations and the end‑to‑end application process via the Access ADGM portal. Covered activities include temporary sales discounts, clearance discounts, instant prize campaigns, prize draws, product launches and promotional stands.
The framework enhances consumer protection by promoting transparency and accountability, while granting ADGM RA clear supervisory powers to monitor compliance, investigate misconduct and enforce regulations. It also simplifies application processes, enabling faster digital permit approvals and improving operational efficiency for applicants.
