Gulf News, 26 June 2026: Ajman’s Department of Human Resources has announced reduced working hours for government employees during the summer, aligning with the UAE’s Year of the Family initiative.
Effective 29 June to 28 August 2026, government staff will work seven‑hour days from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday to Thursday, and from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Fridays. The initiative, branded Sayfuna Mutawazin (“Our Summer, Balanced”), aims to promote work‑life balance, support family wellbeing, and maintain service efficiency.
Government entities may adopt flexible arrangements provided employees complete the official hours specified. Shift‑based entities are instructed to set schedules according to operational needs while ensuring uninterrupted public service delivery.
Director of the Public Human Resources Department emphasised that the initiative reflects Ajman’s broader efforts to enhance employee wellbeing, foster healthier work environments, and strengthen the balance between professional responsibilities and family life. The programme also supports the emirate’s social objectives under the Year of the Family.
