Gulf Digital News, 19 May 2026: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa ratified and issued Bahrain Law No. 19/2026, amending Article 144 of Bahrain Decree‑Law No. 24/1976, following approval by the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives.
The amendment stipulates that substitution under Article 144 shall be carried out within the limits, conditions, regulations, and cases determined by a ministerial decision based on a proposal from the Board of Directors. It further provides that substitution may not be conducted more than once every two years from the date of the last substitution.
The law mandates the Prime Minister and relevant ministers to implement its provisions, which will come into force on the day following its publication in the Official Gazette.
