Bahrain: Labour Ministry Upgrades Employer Inquiry Service to Digital Platform

Gulf Digital News, 6 May 2026: Bahrain’s Labour Ministry has transformed its employer request and inquiry tracking service into a fully digital platform, reducing processing times and enhancing transparency in employment procedures.

The upgraded service allows employers to communicate directly with ministry coordinators through the National Employment Platform, with all interactions documented electronically. Execution time has been cut from five working days to one, achieving a 25% reduction in service level agreement time frames.

The system is now fully automated, with a simplified user interface designed to save time and effort. Labour Ministry Under‑Secretary Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa said the initiative reflects the ministry’s commitment to adopting innovative digital solutions, accelerating employment procedures, and improving user experience.

The development forms part of Bahrain’s wider government programme to re‑engineer services, which has already documented and published more than 1,300 services, with around 800 undergoing redesign. These reforms are supported by feedback from the Tawasul national suggestions and complaints system, investor input, and secret shopper evaluations, alongside new guidance manuals and service level agreements.
