Dubai: GDRFA Dubai Clarifies Events Visit Visa

Gulf News, 20 July 2026: Dubai’s General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has outlined the UAE’s specialised Events Visit Visa, designed for international visitors attending conferences, exhibitions, festivals and other major gatherings.

The Events Visit Visa, introduced by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), is a temporary entry permit linked to approved events. It covers economic, cultural, educational, sporting, religious and community activities. Organisers must secure approvals and submit event details, including expected international participants, before sponsoring visa applications.

The visa applies to events hosted by government entities and approved private organisations. Organisers request participant quotas, and eligible attendees apply with sponsorship letters and supporting documents. Covered events include international conferences, trade exhibitions, cultural and sports festivals, educational forums and community programmes.

Flexible stay options are available: 30 or 60 days, single or multiple entry, renewable up to a cumulative 120 days. The multiple‑entry option benefits exhibitors and professionals attending several events.
