Al Khaleej, 11 September 2026: Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has introduced a comprehensive framework for academic and career guidance in private educational institutions, aimed at preparing students for education, work and life in a rapidly changing world.
The initiative, titled “Future Readiness Framework – Dubai Standards for Academic Guidance and Career Readiness”, sets out nine standards to ensure high‑quality guidance services from early schooling through graduation. The framework emphasises structured guidance, development of essential life and digital skills, and opportunities for real‑world learning experiences to support informed academic and career decisions.
Key elements include effective leadership, active family participation, access to future technologies, and personalised guidance for all students, including those with special needs. The framework also highlights the importance of connecting learning outcomes with higher education, applied education and labour market requirements.
To support implementation, KHDA has published two guidance manuals: one for private schools and another for higher education institutions. These manuals outline best practices, roles and expected indicators for delivering high‑quality academic and career guidance.
