Arab Times, 7 June 2026: Kuwait has begun enforcing Kuwait Decree-Law No. 61/2026, regulating maritime establishments and floating units, with penalties including fines up to KD 20,000 and prison terms of up to 10 years for serious violations.
The new law replaces Kuwait Decree-Law No. 36/1960, modernising Kuwait’s maritime regulatory framework. Companies operating in the maritime sector must comply with the updated provisions within six months of enforcement.
