Oman: ROP Issues Executive Regulation for National Records Law‬

Oman Observer, 15 June 2026: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has issued the executive regulation for Oman Sultani Decree No. 52/2024 on the Promulgation of the Law of National Records, completing the legislative framework for managing and safeguarding national records.

The regulation, enacted by Lt Gen Hassan bin Mohsin al Shraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs, establishes detailed procedures for the implementation of Oman Sultani Decree No. 52/2024 . It aims to strengthen record‑keeping standards, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance with approved legal requirements.

The executive regulation provides guidance on the organisation, preservation, and accessibility of national records, reinforcing transparency and accountability in public administration. It also sets out responsibilities for government entities in handling official records, ensuring they are maintained in accordance with legal and professional standards.
