The Arabian Stories, 18 May 2026: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued a Royal Decree transferring all postal sector responsibilities, assets, rights, obligations, and employees from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) to the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.
The decree stipulates that all competencies and holdings related to the postal sector will now fall under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology. Employees assigned to the postal sector at the TRA will be transferred to the ministry while retaining their financial grades and employment benefits.
The transfer process will be carried out under a mechanism agreed between the Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology and the Executive President of the TRA, ensuring continuity of operations and safeguarding employee rights.
