The Peninsula, 1 June 2026: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has announced the phased update of commercial activities for existing companies, effective 1 June 2026, aligning registrations with the Unified Economic Guide for GCC countries.
The initiative will be implemented in three stages during June, with no action required from business owners. The ministry confirmed that the updates will not affect the nature of activities or commercial registrations but will ensure consistency across GCC states.
Phase 1 (1 June): Companies with one specific activity corresponding to a single activity under the Unified Classification.
Phase 2 (15 June): Companies with one specific activity corresponding to multiple activities under the Unified Classification.
Phase 3 (30 June): Companies with mixed activities (commercial and industrial) updated in line with the Unified Classification.
