Al Khaleej, 21 June 2026: Sharjah’s Economic Development Department has begun implementing a package of financial exemptions and fee reductions approved by the Executive Council to support micro‑businesses, industrial sectors and entrepreneurs.
The measures, effective from 16 June for three months, aim to ease financial burdens, stimulate investment and strengthen business continuity across the emirate. They reflect the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, and Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler, to enhance competitiveness and provide a supportive environment for enterprises.
Chairman Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud confirmed that the incentives are a strategic step to facilitate business operations and meet investor expectations. The package includes exemptions, postponements and fee reductions across several categories.
Key measures comprise exemption of micro‑business licences (Accreditation and e‑commerce licences) from late renewal fines, a 50% discount on micro‑business licence issuance and renewal, and a 50% discount on industrial licences in targeted sectors such as food and pharmaceuticals. Promotional campaign permits will benefit from a 25% fee reduction, while nurseries will receive a 25% discount on issuance and renewal fees.
The department praised the cooperation of government entities including Public Works, Planning and Survey, Civil Aviation, Municipal Affairs, Sharjah Police, SEWA, Tourism Development Authority, Sharjah Airport Authority, Roads and Transport Authority, Sharjah Private Education Authority, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, municipalities, and Civil Defence, highlighting their role in delivering integrated support.
