Sharjah: Executive Council Tightens Healthcare Regulations

Gulf News, 19 May 2026: The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) approved amendments to healthcare regulations, introducing stricter oversight measures and administrative penalties

The amendments to Executive Council Resolution No. 29/2025 apply to government healthcare institutions, private facilities, and professionals in Sharjah and its free zones. They aim to strengthen compliance with healthcare laws, improve service quality, and enhance monitoring and regulatory controls.

New administrative penalties were introduced to deter misconduct, enforce approved standards, protect patients’ rights, and ensure the highest levels of healthcare safety. The council emphasised that the reforms are designed to safeguard public trust in healthcare services and reinforce Sharjah’s commitment to high‑quality medical care.
