Gulf Today, 21 July 2026: His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued an Emiri decree adopting the general organisational structure of the Sharjah Digital Department (SDD).
The decree formalises the department’s framework, with the Sharjah Executive Council tasked to issue detailed resolutions that define job descriptions, competencies, and the responsibilities of organisational units. The Council is also empowered to create, merge, or abolish units within the department as needed to align with its strategic objectives.
This move strengthens Sharjah’s digital governance by ensuring clarity in roles, accountability, and flexibility in adapting to evolving technological needs.
