Al Khaleej, 10 August 2026: The General Pension and Social Security Authority confirmed new enforcement measures against employers who fail to comply with contribution rules, emphasising transparency and timely payment under the national insurance system.
The authority stated that if an employer is found to have paid contributions based on false wage data, they will bear an additional 10% of the due contributions. In cases of late payment, employers must pay an extra 0.1% per day of delay, capped at the total value of contributions owed, without the need for prior notice.
To streamline compliance, the authority highlighted that contributions must be paid exclusively via the electronic transfer system through the “Maashi” platform, enabling employers to upload invoices and transfer payments directly from their bank accounts or approved channels.
Employers are allowed to extend payment deadlines until the 15th of the following month, and can verify outstanding amounts instantly through the platform. The authority stressed that this mechanism ensures accuracy, reduces administrative burdens, and reinforces cooperation with private sector employers as partners in sustaining the pension system.
