CT Senate Passes Sweeping Consumer Protection Bill

The Connecticut Senate passed an expansive consumer protection bill (SB 5). Among other things, the measure would require service providers such as hotels to use “all-in” pricing, fully disclosing all mandatory fees prior to checkout, instead of employing so-called “junk fees.” The bill would also allow the state’s attorney general to investigate allegations of price gauging during a declared state of emergency.
