ME House Speaker to Introduce Bill Addressing Healthcare Workforce Shortage

Maine House Speaker Ryan Fecteau (D) has drafted legislation aimed at boosting the pay of direct care health workers. The bill would mandate an increase in the MaineCare reimbursement rates for direct care workers allowing employers to pay up to 140% of the state minimum wage, currently $14.65 per hour.
