Special Session on Rural Healthcare Coming in ND
North Dakota’s legislature intends to form a new interim committee and hold a special session to allocate $500 million in federal funding for rural healthcare over the next five years. A survey of healthcare providers and the public by the state’s Department of Health and Human Services identified the recruitment and retention of rural healthcare workers as a top priority for that money. FL Bill Aimed at Making Ivermectin Available Over Counter
Florida Rep. Jeff Holcomb (R) filed a bill (HB 29) to allow the antiparasitic drug ivermectin to be sold over the counter. During the pandemic, the drug made headlines as an alternative treatment for COVID, but some trials have shown it didn’t reduce hospitalization and had no meaningful benefit for those with mild to moderate COVID symptoms.
