- Federal: The District Court for the Western District of Louisiana vacates the EEOC's rule requiring employers to provide employees with reasonable accommodations for abortions under the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act. See Louisiana v. EEOC, 2025 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 97334 (W.D. La. May 21, 2025).
- Federal: The EEOC updates “Enforcement Guidance on Harassment in the Workplace” on its website to reflect the decision in Texas v. EEOC, 2025 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 93206 (N.D. Tex. May 15, 2025), which held unlawful and vacated portions of the guidance related to sexual orientation and gender identity. See Enforcement Guidance on Harassment in the Workplace.
- Washington: On May 20, 2025, Washington enacts the Healthy Starts Act (eff. January 1, 2027), which expands pregnancy and lactation accommodation requirements and repeals the state’s existing workplace pregnancy accommodation law. See 2025 Wa. SB 5217.
