- Federal: The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas set aside and vacated on a nationwide basis the U.S. Department of Labor’s 2024 overtime exemption rule. The rule, which took effect July 1, 2024, raised the salary threshold to exempt executive, administrative, and professional employees from minimum wage and overtime pay requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act. See Commerce v. United States DOL, 2024 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 207864 (E.D. Tex. Nov. 15, 2024).
- Alaska: Alaska votes to increase the minimum wage to $13 per hour in 2025, $14 per hour in 2026, $15 per hour in 2027, and increase with inflation in following years. See Ballot Measure No. 1.
- Oregon: Oregon votes to require cannabis businesses to agree to remain neutral when labor organizations communicate with employees about collective bargaining rights. See Initiative Petition 2024-035.
