Complying with China's Cybersecurity Rules in New Era of Enforcement
China's cybersecurity regulator, the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission (CAC), recently conducted its first major cybersecurity investigation and findings against a multinational company. This, along with the CAC’s first administrative enforcement procedures, marks a new era of cybersecurity enforcement in China. In this article, Lorna Chen and Jieni Ji of Shearman & Sterling LLP, discuss how multinational companies should take an active approach to review their cybersecurity compliance programs to address these recent developments.
