Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health: A Benefits Hydra?
In Greek mythology, a hydra was a gigantic nine-headed water snake with large fangs. The Dobbs decision has many heads in its effects in the workplace: workers' health, permissible health benefits, discrimination protections, and privacy protection. Employers will need to be proactive in addressing the issues.

IRS issues guidance providing that after a merger of a multiemployer defined benefit pension plan that has received special financial assistance (SFA) from the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) with a second multiemployer defined benefit pension plan that has not received SFA, and with the second plan designated as the ongoing plan after the merger, the ongoing plan is not deemed to be in “critical status” under I.R.C. § 432(b)(7) solely as a result of the merger.
