New York AG James proposes major crypto regulations

New York Attorney General issued proposed legislation, the Crypto Regulation, Protection, Transparency and Oversight Act (CRPTO Act), on May 5, 2023. The CRPTO Act is the first proposed state legislation, seeking to regulate cryptocurrency transactions by stopping conflicts of interest, requiring public reporting of financial statements, increasing transparency in the industry, and bolstering investor protections.
