Regulating FinTech and Emerging Payments Technology
Recent bank failures have resulted in extra regulatory scrutiny for financial technology companies (FinTech), particularly those companies partnering with banks in the payments space. Federal banking agencies have broad supervisory and enforcement authority over FinTech and agencies, such as the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, and are increasingly exercising such supervision and enforcement authority.
