In a 6-3 decision, U.S. Supreme Court upheld that the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force may continue determining which services will be available free of cost (as preventive care) to individuals covered by the Affordable Care Act. District Court for the Northern District of Texas vacated the 2024 HIPAA Privacy Rule amendments that were designed to enhance privacy protections for reproductive health information. Following the U.S. Supreme Court's 2022 decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturned Roe v. Wade, HHS, under the Biden Administration, issued the rule in April 2024 to strengthen privacy protections for individuals seeking lawful reproductive healthcare. Purl v.
