Addition of LAW 5.0 PreDiscovery™ processing software to the LexisNexis® discovery portfolio increases client choice and control

June 6, 2007 — New York, NY, June 6, 2007 - LexisNexis, a leading provider of information and services solutions, today announced that LexisNexis® Applied Discovery® has acquired Image Capture Engineering, Inc. – the industry pioneer and market leader in the development of discovery document processing software. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Based in Omaha, Nebraska, Image Capture Engineering’s newest product, LAW 5.0 PreDiscovery software, inventories, culls and extracts information from paper and electronic legal documents – processing them into an electronic “load file” for delivery to law firms and corporations for use with discovery software such as LexisNexis® Concordance and others.

“Adding LAW 5.0 PreDiscovery processing capabilities to our portfolio of desktop software, hosted and full service online discovery offerings is a clear example of our commitment to our Total Practice Solutions strategy of helping litigators win by offering them the most complete set of litigation support tools and services,” said Michele Vivona, senior vice president of the LexisNexis® Litigation Services organization.

Because of their natural connection in the discovery workflow, the combination of LAW 5.0 PreDiscovery with LexisNexis Concordance from a single vendor will increase client control over discovery projects with streamlined processing and review, uniform customer support and the resources and broad expertise from LexisNexis to continue development and innovation.

Additionally, linkage of LAW 5.0 PreDiscovery within LexisNexis® Total Litigator will amplify its status as the only complete online litigation workflow platform where attorneys can find and use technology to smoothly manage cases at each step of the litigation lifecycle.

LAW 5.0 PreDiscovery is a perfect fit for what LexisNexis is doing to diversify its discovery offerings,” said Mark Roberts, president and owner of Image Capture Engineering. “I’m very pleased that through this transaction the software and services we have built at Image Capture Engineering are going to a company with the commitment and resources to significantly expand on what we started to offer even greater value to our clients.”

Next Steps

The Image Capture Engineering organization will join the LexisNexis® Discovery Services group that already includes Concordance discovery software, the full service, large capacity Applied Discovery® online review application and the hosted data, in-house managed model of Hosted FYI
Image Capture Engineering teams will immediately begin integration with their counterparts within the LexisNexis Discovery Services group, including sales and customer support.  Mr. Roberts will work with LexisNexis for six months to help manage the transition of Image Capture Engineering, but then will move full time into his role as owner and leader of his other business, Pro Copy.

Beginning this summer, LexisNexis plans to offer LAW 5.0 PreDiscovery in special bundled pricing with Concordance. Over the longer term, LexisNexis will expand upon current integrations between portions of LAW 5.0 and Concordance software to create new choices and services based on client feedback and market demand. However, both LAW and Concordance will continue to be developed and offered as stand-alone products.

LexisNexis will honor existing Image Capture Engineering business and continue to work with clients using competing e-discovery review tools.
