Time Matters and Firm Manager Mobile Applications Enable Lawyers to Manage Their Practices Wherever They Go and Convert Downtime into Billable Hours

The two applications are the latest in a range of mobile solutions LexisNexis® is launching this year that enable lawyers to use their smartphones, mobile or tablet devices to convert downtime into billable hours, respond to client inquiries faster and improve productivity and efficiency during periods when operating their laptops or desktop computers would be impossible or inconvenient.

Time Matters® Mobility is a secure, web-based, mobile service that is offered as part of version 11, the newest version of the award-winning Time Matters practice management software from LexisNexis. The mobile application provides lawyers access to critical Time Matters features - such as matter information, time and expense tracking, and contacts - using their Internet-connected smartphones or other mobile devices. Time Matters v11 software is locally installed at the customer's site; both the software upgrade and the Time Matters Mobility service are available at no additional cost to customers that have an active Time Matters Annual Maintenance Plan.

The Firm Manager® mobile application is a mobile-optimized version of LexisNexis® Firm Manager™, the innovative, web-based practice management application designed specifically for solo practitioners and firms of 1-5 attorneys. Firm Manager is a secure SaaS (Software as a Service) application that provides users a single "dashboard" view of cases, upcoming appointments, meetings and tasks, deadlines and email messages. Users can access and use any of these items with a click of the mouse. Launched in early 2011, Firm Manager offers users an inexpensive and easy-to-use alternative to more complex, installed practice management applications. The Firm Manager mobile application is available to current customers at no additional cost as part of their monthly Firm Manager subscription.

Neither solution requires software installation on the user's smartphone, nor does the user's smartphone have to be cabled to a computer for synchronization and updates. Each operates on a broad range of mobile platforms including the Apple® iPhone®, Apple iPad®, BlackBerry®, Droid™ and Microsoft® Windows® 7 Mobile devices, to name a few. Users will gain access to the new mobility tools by simply logging into the associated Time Matters or Firm Manager secure mobility website using their web-enabled mobile devices. The systems will automatically authenticate the user - usually in a matter of seconds - and enable access to their software from that point forward.

Today's news follows the introduction earlier this year of another LexisNexis mobile application created specifically for lawyers at smaller firms, the Lexis® Advance for Solos application for the Apple® iPhone®. LexisNexis will continue to launch additional mobile applications during the year as part of its effort to provide products and services to legal professionals in different sectors of the market, that match the way they work in today's mobile business culture.
