LexisNexis Agreements with Bellefield Systems and Frayman Group Expand Capabilities of Juris Billing, Accounting and Financial Management Software

October 22, 2012 — NEW YORK – LexisNexis® Legal & Professional (www.lexisnexis.com), a leading provider of content and technology solutions, today announced it has signed separate agreements with Frayman Group and Bellefield Systems, that will add new functionality to the LexisNexis® Juris® application. Leveraging tools developed by these two companies, LexisNexis plans to introduce by the end of 2012, new client intake features and a mobile time entry solution to Juris, the popular billing, accounting and financial management software for mid-size law firms. Combined, these expanded product capabilities will provide firms greater flexibility in managing and growing their firms as well as improved tools for enhancing financial performance.

“Our strategy is to continue to invest in our Juris product to deliver better outcomes for our customers,” said Michael Lipps, vice president and managing director, Legal Business Software Solutions for LexisNexis Legal & Professional. “The agreements announced today are another important step along that continuum. The iTimeKeepTM for Juris® Suite mobile time entry solution, developed by Bellefield, will enable attorneys to enter their time while they’re on-the-go, making it easier to capture all billable hours worked and helping to improve firm profitability. Through our agreement with Frayman Group, we’re also adding a Juris® Suite Client Intake module to improve the speed and accuracy with which a law firm can take on new clients and matters.”

Juris users will be able to access the iTimeKeep solution from their mobile devices to enter their time into the Juris Suite Time and Expense software module, reducing “leakage” of billable hours and saving time that would otherwise be spent back in the office attempting to recall and record hours worked at a later date. iTimeKeep works with most mobile devices, including the Apple® iPad®, iPhone®, iPod touch®, Android™ phones and tablets, Kindle™ Fire and Web browsers, such as Google™ Chrome™ and Apple Safari®.

“Virtually every attorney has a smart phone, tablet or both, and leveraging these tools for efficient mobile time entry gives Juris users the means to work smarter, not harder,” said John Kuntz, Principal, Bellefield LLC.

The new Juris Suite Client Intake software module will enable law firms to enter critical information about each new client and matter, document potential conflicts of interest, and track the status of new clients and matters in a streamlined manner. The new module will also help to reduce the risk of entering incorrect data commonly associated with using multiple information repositories, firm systems and applications to manage the client intake process.

“We are very pleased to have the opportunity to work together with LexisNexis to deliver integrated solutions that increase the value of customers’ investments,” said Mohit Thawani, senior vice president of technology, Frayman Group.

Both Juris Suite Client Intake and iTimeKeep for Juris Suite will run on Juris Suite software version 2.5 with Service Pack 2 (SP2) applied.
