CourtLink® Adds Coverage for Rhode Island State Courts

We’re pleased to announce that CourtLink has expanded its coverage to include Rhode Island state courts.

With this release, CourtLink now offers statewide coverage in the Rhode Island Supreme Court, Superior Courts, Family Courts, and Workers’ Compensation Court. Superior and Family Court locations are included across all state counties: Kent, Newport, Providence/Bristol, and Washington.

Coverage for all courts is available from January 1, 2021, forward. In the Rhode Island Supreme Court, online documents are also available in select cases.

Rhode Island’s court system includes several levels of jurisdiction:

  • Rhode Island Supreme Court is the state’s highest court and serves as the court of final appeal. The Court consists of one Chief Justice and four Associate Justices.
  • Rhode Island Superior Courts have jurisdiction over civil matters exceeding $10,000 and hear appeals from District Courts, Probate Courts, and certain administrative agencies.
  • Rhode Island Family Courts handle matters involving families and children, including divorce, child custody and support, juvenile matters, and domestic violence cases.
  • Rhode Island Workers’ Compensation Court handles disputes related to workplace injuries, including workers’ compensation claims and benefits disputes between employees and employers. The court also includes an Appellate Division to review decisions.
