Activity continues in the data privacy realm as federal legislators recently released a bipartisan discussion draft of a comprehensive data privacy bill: the American Data Privacy and Protection Act, and the California Privacy Protection Agency proposed its first round of draft California Privacy Rights Act enforcement regulations. Although five states have successfully passed comprehensive privacy legislation, many other states are seeing their privacy bills go down quietly as sessions adjourn all around the country.
