OH EPA Scraps Proposed Data Center Water Discharge General Permit

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency announced in a community notice last week that after “carefully reviewing the significant volume of public comments” regarding its proposed general permit to allow certain new data centers to discharge wastewater into the state’s lakes, rivers and streams, it had decided not to move forward with the proposal. The agency said its individual permit process was “the most appropriate path forward at this time.” (OHIO ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY, WCMH)
