PA House Passes AI in Advertising Bill

Pennsylvania’s House passed a bill (HB 95) that would require companies to disclose when they use artificial intelligence in advertisements. Violators would be subject to civil penalties of up to $1,000 per offense or $3,000 per offense for violations that harm those 60 or older. The measure provides an exemption for media companies that unknowingly air, stream or publish advertising containing AI-generated imagery. It is now in the Senate’s Communications and Technology Committee. The House passed a similar bill two years ago, but it died in the Senate. (ALTOONA MIRROR, LEXISNEXIS STATE NET)
