Latinos arrested by ICE in Alabama raids shipped to Louisiana for deportation hearings

December 18, 2011 (1 min read)

"Sheriff Jimmy Harris confirmed the raids and said many were housed at the DeKalb County Detention Center.  'They brought seven to our office one day and eight another day,' Harris said. 'They have all been shipped out to Louisiana.'" - Times-Journal, Dec. 16, 2011.  [NOTE: This is a common tactic by ICE, moving detainees far away from family, friends, legal support.  Shameful.]
