LINDA CURTIS IS A PARTNER AT Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, Los Angeles, and Co-Chair of the firm’s Global Finance practice group. Her practice focuses on all aspects of corporate finance, with a specific focus in recent years on acquisition financings. Linda also represents clients in debt capital markets transactions and other secured and unsecured senior, mezzanine and subordinated financings, and has experience in securitization transactions, debt restructurings and workouts. Her clients include public and private companies in a variety of industries, private equity firms, and commercial lending institutions.
For a number of years, Linda has been selected by Chambers and Partners as a leading lawyer in Banking and Finance for its Chambers USA America’s Leading Lawyers for Business directories and as one of Southern California’s “Super Lawyers” by Law and Politics and Los Angeles magazines. Most recently, she was recognized in the 2015, 2014 and 2013 editions of The Best Lawyers in America© in the category of Banking and Finance Law. The Los Angeles Daily Journal named Linda to its 2015 list of Top Women Lawyers for being at the helm of industry-shaping deals. Linda also served as the president of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, one of the largest local bar associations in the country, from June 2014 to June 2015.
Linda received her J.D. from Stanford Law School where she was the articles editor for the Stanford Law Review. She has an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She received her B.A from Oxford University and graduated summa *** laude from Princeton University where she was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
IRA HERMAN IS A PARTNER IN Thompson & Knight’s New York office. He concentrates his practice on domestic and cross-border insolvency matters, commercial litigation, and related corporate governance issues. He regularly represents buyers of distressed assets and provides counsel concerning troubled commercial real estate, including securitized loans (CMBS). As a mediator, Ira has been able to facilitate the resolution of controversies involving U.S. and non-U.S. parties concerning bankruptcy and commercial law issues. Additionally, Ira works with for-profit and nonprofit entities on data privacy and cybersecurity issues.
Currently he serves as Steering Committee Chair for the New York City Bankruptcy Assistance Project. He is a member of the President’s Council for the Food Bank for the City of New York. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s (ABI) Section 363 Asset Sales Databank and Co-Chair of the ABI Assets Sales and Real Estate Committees. Ira is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Pace University School of Law and St. John’s School of Law in the Bankruptcy LL.M. Program.
Ira received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law where he graduated *** laude with distinction and was the Editor of the Boston University International Law Journal. He has a B.A. in Political Science from Yeshiva University. Ira is a member of the New York State Bar and New York City Bar Associations.
