&lt;p class="p1"&gt;A trademark provides intellectual property protection. As defined by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, a trademark is a &amp;ldquo;word, phrase, symbol, and/or design that identifies and distinguishes the source of the goods of one party from those of others.&amp;rdquo;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p1"&gt;Trademarks have been granted for a variety of things&amp;mdash;including names, phrases, logos, color schemes, sounds, smells and even specific motions.&lt;/p&gt;
