LexisNexis Names Doug Kaplan CEO for Asia Pacific Region

December 03, 2007

December 3, 2007 — New York, NY, December 3, 2007 - Doug Kaplan has been named Chief Executive Officer of LexisNexis Asia Pacific by LexisNexis Group, a leading global provider of information and services solutions. In his new role, Kaplan will report directly to Andrew Prozes, Chief Executive Officer of LexisNexis Group, and will be based in Singapore.

Kaplan will be responsible for developing strategies to expand the adoption of on-line information-based solutions, including e-filing and practice management solutions that further the company’s strong growth in the region.

A 20-year veteran in media and technology in Asia Pacific, Kaplan was previously President, Asia for RealNetworks, where he was responsible for expanding their footprint across the region while driving new consumer product launches in Japan, China, Singapore, Australia, and Korea. Prior to RealNetworks, Kaplan held management positions with technology and information businesses in both the U.S. and Asia, including leadership roles with Fatwire, Divine, Denalii, NetGravity, Nikkei Business Publications, and CMP Asia.

“Asia Pacific offers significant growth potential for LexisNexis and Doug has a proven track record as a successful leader in the region. His deep experience in digital media and technology will help LexisNexis to continue to deliver information solutions that meet the unique needs of customers in the many different Asia Pacific markets,” said Prozes.

“I look forward to moving this organization’s success to the next level by driving growth as the print to on-line migration takes hold in most of the Asia Pacific markets,” said Kaplan.

Kaplan has extensive experience working throughout Asia and is bilingual in English and Japanese, with conversational Korean, French and German. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Asian Studies from the University of California (Berkeley).
