LexisNexis Total Litigator endorsed by the American Association for Paralegal Education

February 05, 2008

February 5, 2008 — New York, NY, February 05, 2008 - The American Association for Paralegal Education (AAfPE) today announced it endorses LexisNexis® Total Litigator – a single online destination offering legal professionals the solutions they need to seamlessly manage cases through each step of the litigation process.

The announcement by AAfPE follows previous endorsement of Total Litigator as “the best option for litigators” by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and support of Total Litigator as the “preferred online litigation tool for litigators” by DRI, The Voice of the Defense Bar.

“Skills in using computers, software, and online technologies are essential for success in the legal field today,” said Professor Thomas Goldman, chair of the Technology Task Force of AAfPE. “Because Total Litigator offers paralegals a single, integrated place to access and use a variety of litigation support capabilities needed to do their jobs, we believe it’s an essential skill to include in today’s paralegal education.”

Total Litigator is a tangible example of the LexisNexis Total Practice Solutions strategy of offering legal professionals the most complete, seamlessly integrated and relevant set of legal technologies from a single trusted source. Its inclusion in the paralegal curriculum offers students the opportunity to learn how to use technology to quickly and efficiently conduct fundamental tasks such as e-filing, arranging service of process, case management, case analysis, e-discovery processing, e-discovery review, deposition and transcript management, fact investigation and more.

“We’re pleased that AAfPE has chosen to make Total Litigator available to the member schools as part of their educational mission,” said Jeff Pfeifer, LexisNexis vice president and managing director.

In addition to receiving support from legal educational organizations, LexisNexis has a history of giving towards the education of legal professionals. For example, this year alone LexisNexis has donated more than $1.5 million in licenses or access to solutions such as Total Litigator, CaseMap® and Concordance® for legal education.
