Titles Queensland has released an updated Form 7 - Lease/sublease and a new Form 20 - Lease declaration as part of an initiative to make lease registration compatible with e-conveyancing.

Form 7 - Lease/sublease

Key changes to the updated Form 7 - Lease/sublease (version 7) include:

  • Elimination of master sketches: Effective from 22 April 2025, master sketches will no longer be required or recorded by Titles Queensland.
  • Enhanced premises description: The description of the premises being leased is now detailed in a series of fields in item 5.
  • Additional lease information: Item 7 now includes additional information regarding the lease type and the area or volume of the premises.
  • Conflict checks for prior or concurrent leases: Item 9 will contain statements about prior or concurrent leases. Titles Queensland will use these statements to assess whether the proposed lease conflicts with any existing leases. They will also be used to process the lease registration and update the title.

The updated Form 7 and a Guide to Completion and Checklist is available on the Titles Queensland website here.
