As platforms change over time, recertification may be required after that time. You will be notified by email should it be required.
We created our certification with the assistance of well-experienced legal researchers and it is endorsed by the Toronto Lawyers Association. Check out our reviews. If your employer has any questions, they are welcome to reach out to us at certification@lexisnexis.ca.
Certification will take between 2 and 3 hours depending on how long it takes you to find the correct answers.
No, you can come back and complete it if you don’t have time to finish it all at once.
Yes! Use your existing Lexis Advance Quicklaw subscription. If you don’t have one, please contact Customer Care for assistance - they will be able to provide you with a temporary ID to complete it.
You can retake the test a second time. Be sure to review the videos first!
Yes! LinkedIn has moved away from creating badges for certifications but feel free to list your certification on your profile and email us for a logo you can add.
Your employer can find your name on our registry of successful candidates. Please allow 1-2 weeks for your name to appear on the registry after completing the certification.

Yes! LexisNexis Canada is an approved provider of CPD/CLE in all jurisdictions in Canada in which it is required. Simply report your time as you would any other CPD/CLE.
LexCanLearn puts what you have learned in the classroom to the test! LexCanLearn gauges and augments your researching capabilities by guiding you through interactive educational modules.
When a score of 80% and above is achieved on the final assessment your name is placed on the registry. Individual scores on the final assessment are not available publicly.
No! LexCanLearn is currently the only legal research certification program of its kind in Canada.
